By co-incidence, on January 14, I uploaded this comic. (The implication was that the character, "Number 2", which had previously appeared, running the Village, was a Cheney stand-in.)

I wound up putting this one up the following day just because of the co-incidence.

And then I had to put this one because both Fantasy Island and Khan were part of growing up.

I don't go out of my way to include famous deaths in my comic (and a co-worker asked me not to make any comics about him...), but some of them were part of growing up and meant something to me -- and I could work it into the comic's theme.

One last one: Pie in the Face.

Condolences, FRiend....I remember the first time I freeped after my mom died this past February 27, it was the 28th....and there was a thread about Paul Harvey's passing.

I posted something like, "He's in good company, my Mom just went up there yesterday", and got a whole lot of comforting condolences.

I just saw Patrick McGoohan in an old Disney movie, “Three Lives of Thomasina” I would never have watched it except it happened to be on the channel I was watching

He played in another Disney movie, The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh. That was my all time favorite Disney production as a kid.

I have about a dozen episodes of Callan

EW was also in two episodes of Alfred Hitchcock, where he is a assassin at the window of a building waiting to take out some famous personality.

He played the role once when he was young and again much later.

PEGASUS BRIDGE, JUNE 1944 Richard Todd is in the photo.

Years later he would play the role in The Longest Day of holding Pegasus Bridge until relieved.

I too remember “The Scarecrow”. Way back in the early to mid 60’s we would always watch “The Wonderful World of Disney” Most of the programs were really movies with an installment each week for two or three weeks.

They were nearly all great movies. Really well done in every way. Far better than most of the TV fare we see now.

I can remember almost nothing of the scarecrow except that he was something of a Robin Hood character.

I really wish that one of my very favorite actresses would have had a few days in the news if that pervert mj had not died the same day.

RIP Farrah Fawcett 06/25/09

She was probably the only “poster woman” I ever had on my wall when I was young. What a loss for us old farts.
