I live and work among the Amish. In general they pay cash for their medical care. If that particular family doesn't have enough, then the Bishops will access the neighboring churches and they get enough money.

The doctors probably instigated this as here is the rub.

They can get cash up front for a small discount on the bill as they do now.

OR.....they can let the Amish get obamaic insurance and they will be paid less than medicaid and when ever the gubmint feels like it.

—Discount?? In NY State, there is a mandatory state “surcharge” (i prefer to say “fine”) when you pay a medical bill in cash!! Perhaps the state wants to keep the cash transactions at a minimum so that no transactions go untaxed.... I feel this is very unconstitutional and it made me very angry when it was added to my bill!
