Go back thru posts after the game - general comments like “It made me angry”, “I'll never buy an Audi”, etc. - the point being everyone has different perceptions of parody.

Probably why it is effective. You take away from it what you want. I dont see how anyone can see it as anything but negative, but hey I dont pretend to understand lefties.

This is still my all-time fave Super Bowl commercial.

I remember I laughed so hard when they showed it I almost passed out.

Because of the overall message, which was basically "get used to this kind of crap and buy an Audi so you won't be targeted."

I'm with you. The not-so-subtle message was "This is coming, get ahead of the curve to stay out of trouble."

It was done lightheartedly, but the message was clear. You will get in line.

Now that was funny.

I can understand that, I was offended. But I was more in the category of, put your hand on me and you will take back a stump. The ad drove me angry because there are people who want to do just that, be that green policeman, run a fascist country.

Correct! Just pimping hits for his website. He didn't get one from me.

All I saw was too much Who but very few ads.

He's a “1 of” poster. These are blog pimps who make post number 1 of...how ever many *other* people post. They aren't here to be a part of the group, only to get you to hit their blog.

Rather obvious satire and sarcasm quite often gets taken literally.

It helps to be familiar with the source. I have been on both sides - my post misunderstood and my misunderstanding others. There are so many dummies amongst us, including me at times, it is hard to know if one is reading good satire or just a stupid post.

Neo ... given that your still a noob, apparently you haven't learned how to pay attention to details yet. So, just to refresh your memory .... from the Freerepublic Home Page - down in the Disclaimer Section:

Please do not post advertising, solicitations, spam or any other commercial messages. Do not spam us with links to your own site. No one likes spam.

So, even though you're proud of your blog pimping, stop it.

Spam is something you are forced to get in your email, where you are forced to delete it. Spam is something you have no control over seeing.

This is on a public forum. Again, you clearly don’t understand the concept of free will or free choice is, which is what free republic is all about.

It is your choice to click on the link, or not. You do not read everything posted on this site, to be sure. So if you don’t want to read it, fine by me.

And again, I don’t make any money off of this. It all goes to my charity.

So again, I am doing nothing wrong, and frankly don’t care what you think. It isn’t because I don’t respect you...I don’t know you. It is just that I know that I am simply using my right of freedom of speech. And ultimately, that is what this site is about.
