But you can’t use it for ID. Ever wondered about that? You have to have it to get a Driver’s License but you can’t use it for ID. We can not take your birth certificate or SS card for ID but we can take your Driver’s License that you got with the other forms.
Yea I was having problems wrapping my head around that when I opened up my latest bank account (first new one after 9/11).
Had to show SSN (the card itself, not just the number) to open account, but won’t accept it as a form of ID...that doesn’t make sense. Either take it as ID or don’t make me give it to you. One or the other, not this grey “we need it but it’s not an ID” crap.
Had 3 state ID’s, (DL, CCL, and standard ID), three major credit cards, SS card, work ID badge, hunting license, fishing license, and my insurance card. Four pictures and eleven total with full first, middle and last names that matched my state ID’s.
Only thing they would accept as a second form of ID was my Costco membership card (/boggle) because that one had a picture on it (but so did my work ID), but only first and last name and the picture has faded so now it just looks like a smudge.
