He's the author of three novels about defending freedom, beginning with "Enemies Foreign And Domestic."

I can attest, that each and every novel is well worth reading. Stunningly similar to headlines and events from the past few years and a chilling look into a possible future, if we don't do some serious changing.

Just the other day I was discussing the Argentine parallels with 2 very good friends; funny you should mention it.

"There is, however, one reason to purchase at least a few more weapons: to arm thy neighbors."

Ummm. Short answer, "no." I've already been approached by neighbors who placed "Obama" campaign signs in their yards and voted for the clown. Now they're scared. Others have been merely sheeple; perfectly content to graze so long as they remained undisturbed. Both types displayed an appalling lack of judgment. The last thing I need to be doing is placing a gun in their hands. Let one of them accidentally shoot a kid, or a spouse in a fit of jealous rage, and there'll be a personal injury lawyer at my door ready to sue me for everything I've got...immediately followed by the BATFE asking a lot of questions. No thanks. Plenty of gun stores still in operation and fully stocked. I suggest they go shopping pronto. The clock is ticking, folks...

Very thoughtful article, and a wise thesis (by my lights).

In times of stress, we should always ask “WWBVD?” (What Would Boone Vikerson Do?)

Matt, great advice about arming neighbors. All of mine are armed, even the Democrats. Oregon is a very gun friendly state.

I finished reading Foreign Enemies and Traitors; superb read, like your first two books. That is an excellent trilogy!

I’m going to read them all again; they are that good!!

Be sure and let us know when your next creation is available.

Fernando Aguirre’s “The Modern Survival Manual: Surviving the Economic Collapse”, is COMPELLING. I read it just after you or Squantos pinged me to it a few years back. It changed our philosophy about self defense. We've been practicing the "Arm Thy Neighbor" philosophy for some time now. People who think it's expensive, or not practical are short sighted. They should really just read Fernando Aguirre's article and let it soak. The conclusion will be the same...and that is that we can't afford NOT to practice Arm Thy Neighbor.

Hey bro,

My main concern is that if my neighbors don’t have arms, how can I trust that they will know how to use them? If they haven’t had the forethought to arm themselves, this may present a problem.

I hate to say it but we need to all get a feel for how are neighbors are. When the economy collapses, will they be a help or a burden? I’d love to help all who come to me but I can’t feed and arm everyone. If they can’t do it for themselves, you and I cannot save them.

But, given the above, we must try. However, we must encourage our friends and neighbors now, rather when it’s too late. I know which of my neighbors I can stand shoulder to shoulder with. I know which cannot be trusted with information or arms.

God bless!
