The good news here is that this guy and his wife are now on the list and will be denied entry into the United States from now on. Good riddance to them. Maybe their story will straighten out other Canadians coming here with a chip on their shoulders.

Since when did we start imposing civil/criminal punishments without a trial? I'm pretty sure the Sixth amendment has something to say about that.
Since when did we start inflicting de facto exile/banishment for getting into an argument with the police? I'm pretty sure the Eighth amendment has something to say about that.

I certainly didn't spend 9 years in the Army to allow the police/border-patrol to ignore the Constitution I swore to defend.

You certainly didn’t spend 9 years in the Army studying immigration law.

A non-US citizen has no right to enter the United States. It is a privilege which can be granted and revoked at any time. Three of the four Beatles were retricted entry into the United States because of their personal histories (drug convictions, other stuff).

Even when in the United States, foreigners are here as guests, which privilege can be revoked at any time for any cause (unless you are Obama’s aunt).

You guys probably think that Immigration was too rough on the Millenium Bomber who was caught at Port Angeles, WA, because of his behavior.

Ride these border agents enough and you just may be the guy that gets nuked by the one they let through because they didn’t want to hear any more whining from people like on this thread.

These people are Canadians. They don't have a right to come to the United States. It is a privilege, just like it is a privilege for us to visit Canada.

Got a funny story for you though. There is an fired RCMP officer that keeps threatening people and law enforcement in my local area. He was allowed to cross for a hearing regarding a no contact order being requested against him. When the hearing was over the judge granted the no contact order. The Canadian threatened the requester and was arrested on the spot.
