Please let it be so. As a resident of the Peoples Republic of Illinois I would so like to vote for someone who doesn’t make me want to vomit.

Kirk doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell anyway, not with that independent having joined the race. What was a competitive seat will go to the dems easily, now.

I received an email from the Kirk campaign this morning. I didn’t really read it but dumped it. It began, however, mentioning the hit he’s taking by those salacious attacks on his military service. That was enough for me. TRASH!

Oil Slick Obama...love it...especially from a city that had its two professional baseball teams (Chicago White Sox and Cubs) play for a trophy called the BP Cup! Slick marketing campaign, isn’t it? Well, oil’s well that ends well.

Last I heard, it was a toss-up between Mark Kirk and Alexi Giannoulias.
The governor’s campaign has state Sen. Bill Brady (R-Bloomington) ahead of incumbent Pat Quinn.

Ummm...isn’t this what the primaries are for? If the Republicans of Illinois wanted a conservative why didn’t they nominate one? Why attack the GOP candidate in the general? I’ll grant you that this guy looks like a typical liberal but as long as Chicago is in Illinois what can you expect?

If the Republicans of Illinois wanted a conservative why didnt they nominate one? Because the IL Republican Central Committee cuts them off at the knees every single time. That's why.

Well then, you got further than I did. As soon as I saw ‘Kirk’ in the address, I deleted it.

They wouldn’t if they were the majority. Until that happens you need to fight it out in the primaries, educate the public and get behind the party’s candidate in the fall. Playing spoiler and turning the elction over to a crony dem won’t win conservatoves any friends among the rank and file GOP.

I assume you posted the photo from Star Trek because you read the RFFM.org Satire piece: ABC 7 Chicago’s GOP U.S. Senatorial Debate: Where Mark Kirk Really Was http://rffm.typepad.com/republicans_for_fair_medi/2010/01/abc-7-chicagos-gop-us-senatorial-debate-where-kirk-really-was.html [posted January 16, 2010]
Since I wrote it, Sulu and Rep. Mark Kirk, alias Captain James T. Kirk, have disappeared. They were last spotted high over Kosovo and Iraq and they were also seen near the Hindu Kush or dare I say tush?
Of course, this is all tongue and... Well, this is a family friendly website, isn’t it? So I won’t go there. But I heard Kirk will...

There were three conservatives, two thieves and Kirk on the ballot in the Primary. They wasted verbal ammo fighting among themselves while Kirk used his overwhelming advantage in money to flood the airwaves with adds. He had the big name recognition and the others all looked like also rans. I have always said that the greatest failure of the Tea Party in Illinois was not convincing two of the conservatives to get out of the race. It would still have been an up hill fight, but at least we could have forced Kirk into defending his positions in the debates. To lose because the people you supported were beaten is one thing. To lose because the people you support self destructed is a lot harder to live with.

Now, if folks can convince Castle and Crist and Fiorina to bow out too for a conservative as TEA Party momentum builds. .. but that wouldn’t be the ‘moderate’ thing to do, would it ;-?
Give ‘em Hell where ya can when ya can..
