The Philadelphia Story is my favorite, but the Desk Set is a close second.

"Anything James Bond, except the Timothy Dalton one and the ones where Roger Moore was really, really old..."

Lay off Dalton.

In terms of Box Office revenue, "The Living Daylights" was the 4th most successful 007 film ever made.

I see many wonderful movies listed and many of my favorites such as Groundhog Day, The Fifth Element, Lawrence of Arabia, Blade Runner (They say you Blade Runner), Major League, Raising Arizona, Miller’s Crossing, Harold and Maude, Heat, etc.

So now I’d like to introduce my fellow FReepers to a few gems they may have missed: movies with a special beauty not often seen:

Carlito’s Way

Night on Earth (Roberto Benigni)

The Hudsucker Proxy

Zorba the Greek

Lonely Are the Brave

The 13th Warrior

How to Murder Your Wife (Jack Lemmon)

A Fine Madness (young Sean Connery)

To Live and Die in LA

Paths of Glory

And movies not so famous but I liked them anyway

Captain Ron

Big Trouble in Little China

Brewster McCloud

Clockwork Orange

Blood In Blood Out

Life is Beautiful

The Horse’s Mouth (Alex Guiness)

I have many more if you are interested ....

Did you ever see, Whales of August?

I believe it was the last film made by Betty Davis,Vincent Price, Lillian Gish, and Ann Southern.

Harry Cary Jr was also in it.

I'll have to add Das Boot.

Amen to that. But word to the wise: get the subtitled version -- in the dubbed one, you miss a major part of the fabulous acting.

Cary Grant was a wonderful comedic actor. Did you frame your autographs? What a conversation piece they would be!

Yes, all the autographs have been framed. The Charleston Heston autographed photo with a rifle over his shoulder is in my hallway.

Jonas Salks is in my study along with Sir Edmund Hillarys autograph with a added photo I got from a National Geographic cover.

Kenneth Branagh's autograph with a still from Henry V is in my bedroom along with Frank Capra's with a still from It's A Wonderful Life.

The rest are in my attic right now.
