The target, as Breitbart has said all along, wasn’t the speaker, but the audience who was murmuring approval of the described racist actions. And frankly Sherrod, in other recent public comments, is clearly a racist who views everything through the lens of “her people” vs. others.
But that’s beside the point. Breitbart didn’t demand her resignation, Omaba did, through Vilsak. Breitbart didn’t put out a public press release denouncing her, the NAACP did. Breitbart said, and continues to say that it was the reaction of the NAACP audience that was the target of his criticism, and no one has been able to refute that.
If anyone owes Sherrod an apology, and I’m not sure she is owed one, it’s not Breitbart.
Focusing on Sherrod is just deflecting from the real story.

In the other and virtually ignored video clip posted by Big Government along with Sherrod’s bigger hit, she confidently tells the same NAACP crowd to get jobs at the USDA because the federal government will never fire you.

Why are so many Freepers missing that this was never about Sherrod? Breitbart was exposing the NAACP’s REACTION to Sherrods story of racism.

Oh, I agree. I watched Breitbart on CNN very early on telling people that this was an excerpt. Then I watched the CNN people, later in the day, say the talking points calling it “edited” just like some on this thread.
Breitbart did NOT edit, and the ORIGINAL excerpt contained the exculpatory material. It also, necessarily, contains the sentence where she says “oh, it’s still about black and white, but...” and continues to justify her bigotry while the NAACP audience voices its agreement.
To say differently is to prove ignorance of the facts, willfully or otherwise. The proof is in watching the tape again, which I suggest people do, and to notice her use of words and ideas throughout.
Racism + Marxism = Obama Appointee. Shirley Sharrod is a perfect case in point.

I agree, her admitted racist acts are not mitigated by the “breadth” of the speech. She maintains bigoted beliefs and expesses them throughout the speech. She has played the race card brilliantly in this incident. She can even say ‘I told you so, see how hard it is to fire a federal employee?’

She gave the speech in March 2010. The event was 20 years ago. And she is still making racist comments.
After watching the entire tape and after hearing her on GMA this morning, I maintain the woman is a racist, a bigot, and a moron and that Breitbart has not a thing to apologize for.

Even if Mr. Breitbart intentionally distorted the facts -- and I do not believe he did -- so what? It's the rules the Left plays dirty by and follows their hero Alinsky and his book, "Rules For Spoiled Brats."
