They aren’t all that intelligent. They have begun making a lot of strategic errors and it will cost them their lives.
1. The slain rancher in AZ.
2. The hit contract on the sheriff.
3. This incident.
They may be well trained in spec-ops tactics, but their strategy is really bad. I think they are convinced that they can intimidate the US as they do the government in Mexico.

What is the advantage of having spectres if we have not the desire to use them? No amount of technical ability or equipment can put a dent in this thing if the authority controlling that ability and equipment is sympathetic to the goals of the enemy or even outright allied with them.
