I don’t begrudge Atonin his membership.

I don't either ... just mildly jealous. I looked at their facilities once.

Nice.

VERY nice.

But 'way out of my price range.

I joined IWLA instead ... (good facilities there, too.)

The gun club I belong to has no running water and we generate our own electrical power. So, no there is no restaurant on the premises nor gun shop. That said, I like it. You run into all kinds of people every time you go. Over BBQ lunch, you might sit next to a tile setter on one side and have a surgeon on the other. And we have an ocean view from the pistol range. Heh. www.wcgc.org

I am in Houston and I shoot at the West Houston Shooting facility. The facilities are decent and fairly cheap. However one time a couple of years ago I was downtown on some business. I was in a long elevator ride with some execs. They were talking skeet. One guy starts talking about a problem he was having with his shotgun. I happened to know exactly what the problem was and how to correct it. So I politely butt in and tell him how to fix it. Turns out he is an exec from a major oil company and they have frequent shoots for their clients and vendors. So he asks if I would care to join in their next shoot.

Well boy howdy talk about dressing the place up. Tables of food and drink and cigars with Hostesses that were all EASY on the eyes and in short skirts. That was some party. Now when I go back to the center I fondly remember that shoot and wish I had someone to help me hold my shells and pull my targets...
