I recently lost my Mother, age 86. I wrote this little poem in her honor.

Dear old Mothers rare indeed,
Their soft eyes and gentle smiles
Vanquish our daily cares as tho
They never lived with loss or trials.

Dear old Mothers loving laughs
Bringing joy and happiness,
As if their lives had smoothly passed
With ne’re a toil or sadness.

Dear old Mothers giving all
With best intent for family,
As time grows short and days go fast
Accepting what comes finally.

Dear old Mothers courage shared
Quiet humble grace displayed,
We thank you for the gifts you gave
Your time your love your knowledge.

Dear old Mothers rare indeed,
How will we fill the void you leave.
By living true and gentle lives
As dear old Mothers we will be.
