He needs to stay in till the military ballots come in. Something wrong with this system where the military ballots never get counted. They send them out too late for them to get back in time for the general election, then a winner has already been declared before they get back so they just get thrown away. This needs to stop! They need to have those ballots in the mail by the first of September. I believe it is deliberate and no one seems to care. Looks like some state official would be on this and holding somebody accountable for getting the military ballots in the mail in time for them to get back by election day.

You’re so right. Look where this was the greatest problem - IL and NY - both blue states (well IL more than NY, except at the statewide office level - did NY Senate go back to the GOP by the way??)

See my post #58.

I voted absentee (Florida) in the 2000 election while stationed in Japan. I can still remember the jerks saying the Military votes shouldn't count. The is one case where I don't care how the voter voted, never ever disenfranchise the vote of someone who is serving overseas and went through the trouble to vote.

It’s hard to find data for the historical processing of UOCAVA ballots. But the following is a study of the ballots from 2008. Scroll down to p. 6 there is a chart with the number of ballots sent out by each state and p. 9 indicates percentage of counted ballots. Then scroll down to p. 40 for a table of ballots counted by state......
