John F. Kennedy had his flaws, and I don't mean just the serial, almost obsessive adultery he is often best remembered for. The Bay of Pigs disaster was wholly preventable and JFK was ultimately responsible for it. However, he was a WWII vet and made some good decisions based on common sense (tax reduction, the Cuban missile crisis come to mind). I believe that JFK loved his country - and he died for it, assassinated in cold blood 47 long years ago. Not a great president but not a terrible one, either. Of course, as with all historical figures, one must observe them in the context of the time in which they lived and the early 1960's are far different than today. As the article points out, the Democrat party of 2010 is as far removed from the Democrat party of JFK's time as east is from west. There simply is no real comparison.
Barack Hussein Obama is as different from John F. Kennedy as the article states. Obama has made it abundantly clear that he doesn't like America or most Americans, unless they happen to agree with him or can be viewed as 'victims of capitalist oppression'. I see President Barack Hussein Obama as simply incompatible with American values. That America elected this man as our president, with all the power that office contains, is frightening. However, I'm confident that we'll survive Obama. Well, pretty confident, anyway.
I don't mean just the serial, almost obsessive adultery he is often best remembered forActually no one remembers him for this, because it was mostly unknown during his life. It only began to leak out some time later after Jackie deserted Camelot, went Greek and married Ari Onassis.
