Yogi Bear: The Worst Movie Ever?
Pundit Press ^ | 12/11/2010 | Aurelius

The 'worst movie ever' is a term often thrown around when terrible movies are released. The upcoming 3D film Yogi Bear takes its inspiration form a classic cartoon and apparently wrecks it. The acting seems staid and the jokes in the commercials are embarrassing. It could possibly be the worst feature film in history.

My personal favorite, of course, is Tommy Wiseau's masterpiece The Room. Yet at least The Room has some redeeming features, mainly the fact that it is so bad, it is good. For example, please enjoy this quick summary of the movie:

It doesn't have to have value, folks, it just has to keep the kids occupied.

That's a heck of a child rearing philosophy.

I've some pretty bad ones. Streaming online lowers the bar to unfathomable depths.

We have several, all recommended to us by relatives. We no longer take their suggestions. The Crying Game, Moonstruck, The Witches of Eastwick, The Piano. All from about 20 years ago but that was about when I began to boycott Hollywood and stick with TCM.

Plan 9 from Outer Space

Worst movie ever!!

Bad... yes, but in a self-redeeming sort of way. "So bad it's good", for lack of a more deft description. And it manages to be entertaining without the peanut-gallery comments from Joel, Crow and Tom Servo.

Not really my philosophy.

Think outside the box. Why would Hollywood come up with this drivel?

If Yogi and Boo Boo aren’t coming out of the closet, some Hollyweirdos will think it’s terrible.

Agree, nevertheless, everyone still talks about it.

Worse than “Manos: The Hands of Fate”? I think not.

Wait until Gulliver's Travels starring Jack Black comes out later this month. A Christmas turkey with a Christmas ham.

Well, worst for him but the movie isn’t geared to him. It’s for the elementary school crowd and the mature democrat.

Good to “riff” to a la the folks at MST3K. Memorable lines (and hubcaps and strings = flying saucers).

“You see! You see? Your stupid minds! Stupid, stupid!”

“It’s hard to find something when you don’t know what you’re
looking for...”

The cop scratching his chin with his gun.

The footage of Lugosi taken years back and re-used after his death, with Ed Wood’s chiropractor standing in for
Lugosi later. The chiropractor actor’s cape starts to fall down and he quickly puts it back on his shoulder (some zombie!) Classic!

Pia Zadora’s “The Lonely Lady” was almost completely 100% bad, except for the saving grace of some obligatory female nudity.

It will take a lot to beat that

You obviously haven't been watching much Sci-Fi Channel. :-)

"Mansquito" was classically awful. Plumbing the depths of all-time awfulness. Then, along came "Sharktopus".....a film that, other than gratuitous numbers of chicks in bikinis, was utterly without any redeeming qualities.

I saw the trailer for "Yogi Bear". It could give both of them a run for their money.

Great...JUST GREAT...Liberals getting to re-make John Wayne in their scum sucking image. How horrible is that? Let me guess, he will be a brokeback gay cowboy in touch with his inner peace over EPA regulations that strip land ownership from freepeople. And he goes around with his lecturne and teleprompter to teach people how the west was won but destroyed by George Bush?

“Speed 2” was the only movie that made me want to take a flame-thrower to the theater.

“The Last Flight of Noah’s Ark”, with Elliot Gould. One of two I’ve walked out of. Mission Impossible II we Netflixed (it’s a word), but turned it off after about 20 minutes.

The only movie I’ve ever walked out on: Biloxi Blues
You must not have any military experience.
My father-in-law was WWII vet, I'm a VN vet and we used to laugh our butts off watching BB.
Great flick.
