Just about everyone in America is here because their ancestors chose to flee oppression and despotism rather than "standing and fighting for their own homes". While Blacks didn't come here of their choosing, under favorable terms...they didn't "stand and fight" either. They were captured by evil men upon surrender.
I think only American Indians can come close to making such a claim.
