I sure as hell hope so.
I'm quite sure Franklin was speaking about cots that had been soaked with those substances, not necessarily at the exact moment she sat down.
Then why didn't he say that?
That is one of my biggest gripes about some Christians. They tend to embellish things for no reason.
As if it wouldn't be good enough to simply say that she sat with people who were suffering from cholera? He didn't have to make it sound like she plopped her butt right down in their filth.
You can be sure some of those cots were filthy. If she wanted to sit on a dirty cot and bring some hope and strength to a hurting or dying person, that is something she should be praised for. By the way - It’s Christians who are doing most of that work all over the world.
This a really odd reaction to the story.
A lot of people tend to embellish things for know reason. I don’t think Christians do it any more than any other people.
You’ve never been to Haiti, have you? I’ve got news for you. There aren’t many places where there isn’t “filth”. I’ve traveled all over the world - Asia, Mediterranean, Western Europe and the Caribbean. And I’ve never seen conditions anything like Haiti. And that was before the earthquake.
Uh - didn’t Mitt’s dog’s diarrhea dribble down the roof and down the windshield - and MAYBE Mitt got some on his hand when he hosed it off that hasn’t been washed off adequately until this day!! Yuk.
