Liberals Lie: Mar 20, 2009 Christine O'Donnell filed as Candidate for Senate
Delaware News Center | December 31, 2010 | Jonathon Moseley

Proving allegations against O'Donnell false, on March 20, 2009, Christine O'Donnell filed with the Federal Election Commission as a candidate for the US Senate race in 2010.

Filling up a slow news week with fake news, the mainstream media fabricated a story about an unconfirmed supposed investigation of Christine O'Donnell's campaign finances. While one anonymous person claims to have been interviewed, other key (likely) witnesses deny having been contacted and official agencies refused to comment.

The accusations were brought by the Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (C.R.E.W.). CNN reported on December 30, 2010, that for the first time C.R.E.W. admitted to being funded by George Soros, while protesting that George Soros is not C.R.E.W.'s only contributor.

One of three (1 of 3) topics of C.R.E.W.'s accusations rests on C.R.E.W.'s assumption that Christine O'Donnell was not a candidate during 2009.

C.R.E.W. alleges that expenses paid by Christine O'Donnell's campaign during 2009 could not be legitimate campaign expenses because O'Donnell was no longer a candidate for the 2008 election.
NOT TRUE...

In fact, in January 2009, Christine O'Donnell announced privately to key supporters that she would be running for the 2010 US Senate election. O'Donnell's 2008 campaign manager has submitted a sworn affidavit testifying that (among other things) Christine O'Donnell declared her intent to be a candidate for the November 2, 2010, US Senate election in January 2009.

Candidates are NOT required to immediately file with the Federal Election Commission, until they have raised or spent a significant amount of money towards their candidacy.

However, on March 20, 2009, Christine O'Donnell filed a "Statement of Candidacy" with the Federal Election Commission.

Therefore, expenses by O'Donnell during 2009 were in fact legitimate campaign expenses for the 2010 election.

Even before March 20, 2009, Christine O'Donnell already had the intent to be a candidate, and expenses prior to March 20, 2009, were also legitimate.

Furthermore, expenses in 2009 could also have been legitimate for the 2008 campaign for thank you dinners or events to volunteers and workers from the 2008 campaign.

Christine O'Donnell's filing as a candidate -- signed on March 20, 2009, stamped received on March 31, 2009 -- can be found at:

When I saw commie “law professor” Jonathan Turley on CNN yapping about how much trouble O’Donnell was in, I knew the whole story was a fake.

It figures.

You'll get closer to the actual truth by simply assuming all of what the legacy media reports is a lie.

And they're not even embarrassed.

So true! I saw it. Turley's specialty is saying whatever liberals want him to say, couched as a legal comment, in return for face time on TV.

'Will bash conservatives for attention.'

Christine is starting a PAC. This is the ONLY reason this story is even being talked about.

There is NO investigation of O’Donnell’s campaign violations. None of the people allegedly contacted have been contacted. O’Donnell had big guns overseeing her campaign expenditures for just this reason. Plus the initial filing, a nothing burger kind of query based on a nothing burger charge during her campaign, has already been checked out.

Anybody thinks the FBI is launching any big investigation of this campaign during this holiday period, raise your hand. I got a bridge to sell.

The big money raised during O’Donnell’s campaign was overseen by the Tea Party Express, which raised most of the money in fact.

Now O’Donnell is starting a PAC and she has some bucks to begin it with.

They want to trash her is all and they know that all the crap about her during the campaign makes such charges seem real. They for sure don’t want folks contributing to her PAC and they sure want her campaign coffers to have to pay big bucks for defense.

It’s a real sin what’s being done here and a lot of it is being done by the Blue Blood Ruling Class GOP. It was the Delaware GOP Ruling Class Blue Bloods that tipped off CREW to begin with about campaign funds paying for rent. When it was ONE townhouse paid for rent and which was used strictly as a campaign office. The other was, in fact, for COD’s own rent, both to the same payee, but only ONE paid for with campaign contributions. O’Donnell didn’t handle any of this but it looked good in the media with some important facts omitted.

Oh well, it’s all a lie but they’ll win, they always win cause the few folk like me that know the truth are just spitting into the wind. Karl Rove and Soros’ CREW friends have big media on their side.

Anybody can file charges of abuse of campaign funds, based on nothing, and flame it into a bigger blaze that it is. And with how they managed to trash COD they’ve got a real good fake cause here and they sure don’t want COD endorsing and financing HER kind of candidate.

Unbelievable! We can get to the truth about this, but still have no definitive proof that the President is a natural born citizen. What a country!

This has probably been posted somewhere already but here is Christine O'Donnell's response to this smear campaign.

December 29, 2010. Wilmington, DE: Christine O'Donnell's campaign released the following statement in response to investigation rumors and states that Democrat insiders warned her that the "Establishment" would use phony investigations to end her political career;

Campaign Manager Matt Moran responded to the rumor of a criminal investigation, "We have heard absolutely nothing other than the same unsubstantiated allegations and rumors that have been circulating in the press for months. "If anything does materialize from this rumor, we will continue to fully cooperate as we have made every attempt to ensure we are in compliance with all rules and regulations. The politically motivated charge was all started by false accusations by Christine's political opponents, and ratcheted up by former Biden staffer Melanie Sloan and CREW with their false claims. Let us be clear: there was no impermissible use of campaign funds. Period. This is just an ongoing effort by the George Soros-funded CREW and other liberal groups and individuals to intimidate and threaten Christine, even after the election."

Christine O'Donnell continued, "Since anonymous sources are being taken seriously, please allow me to share some tips I've received and keep the tipsters' identities anonymous. We've been warned by multiple high-ranking Democrat insiders that the Delaware Democrat and Republican political establishment is jointly planning to pull out all the stops to ensure I would never again upset the apple cart. Specifically they told me the plan was to crush me with investigations, lawsuits and false accusations so that my political reputation would become so toxic no one would ever get behind me. I was warned by numerous sources that the DE political establishment is going to use every resource available to them. So given that the King of the Delaware Political Establishment just so happens to be the Vice President of the most liberal Presidential administration in U.S. history, it is no surprise that misuse and abuse of the FBI would not be off the table. And further connecting the dots, do you think it is just a coincidence that Melanie Sloan was a senior Biden staffer just before she joined CREW and filed her complaint against me?!

"I have faith that our supporters and the general public will see right through these thug tactics. This is simply an Establishment trick to stop the anti-establishment Tea Party movement in its tracks. Heck, the Presidency is at stake in 2012."

I saw the report, and I do not know if the accusations are true or false. What I do know is that CNN would never have the stones to air these same accusations against Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton. These two have never held a job in their entire lives, but seem to live like millionaires.
