It's not going to work for the left this time. 1995 was a different world. Very little internet access, no Fox News, minimal national talk radio, Limbaugh was on his own for the most part. No social media, no blogs.

As I've said before; if the left and Democrats had known 20 years ago how the internet would shape the political and social landscape, they would have done everything in their power to keep the public from having access to it.

If the Left or the Right view an incident like this shooting as an effective means of furthering their political goals, or harming their opponents then they necessarily view that incident as a virtue. I am reminded of the Democrats’ excitement over the landfall of that Hurricane during the 2008 Republican Convention. I have been glad to see that most here on Free Republic have offered prayers for the victims unlike over at DU.

Reading the first accusations by the Left attributing the shooting to the Tea Party I thought about the influence of Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals. I haven’t read it(will not buy it but would read it for free). Did find a summary containing the following quote:

“’The organizer’s first job is to create the issues or problems,’ and ‘organizations must be based on many issues.’ The organizer ‘must first rub raw the resentments of the people of the community; fan the latent hostilities of many of the people to the point of overt expression. He must search out controversy and issues, rather than avoid them, for unless there is controversy people are not concerned enough to act. . . . An organizer must stir up dissatisfaction and discontent.’”

It seems to me that has been what’s happening taking into consideration the many vitriolic statements made by the pres himself.
