This guy is an idiot!!! I have personally deferred two crimes with a firearm at two different times. Neither of which did I have to discharge my weapon so the incidents did not make the news (thank god).

Well, we know by the words of Clarabelle the Clow...er, I mean Clarence the Sheriff that he’s a fine law enforcement officer of 50 years experience. And we know, from his own words, that he knew all about the toxic, vitriolic, bigoted, even dangerous, environment in his very own jurisdiction, the result of hateful, rhetoric, all presumably, of course from the right.
And, being the chief law enforcement officer of the county, we know that, as a good cop of 50 years experience, he was fully aware of Loughner’s run-ins with the police in his county, and of his unstable tendencies.
And we know that, as the chief law enforcement officer of his own county, that both Loughner and Gabrielle Giffords were both in his jurisdiction. And we know that, as a fine cop of 50 years experience, with plenty of sources in his jurisdiction, he knew that she would be appearing in public. And being familiar with how the Secret Service plans for such events by rounding up and detaining all known whack jobs before a presidential visit, that it only made good sense to do the same for a public congressional appearance in his own toxic, vitriolic, bigoted, hate-filled, dangerous, county jurisdiction, where citizens can carry guns openly, and some even had them on display in the past at political rallies in Arizona.
He knew all this. In advance. Because he’s a cop of 50 years experience, the chief law enforcement officer of his very own county, dangerous, on the border with Mexico and all of its attendant deadly violence with the drug cartels.
And, still, he refused to provide security for Giffords. How, then, is he not criminally negligent in her shooting? But, like all good liberals, he not only isn’t liable, he’s shooting off his mouth, scoring political points, or so he thinks. Why, he might just as well have driven Loughner to the Giffords appearance and pointer her out to him.
I wonder if the US Attorney or DA has called him and told him to shut up and stop handing Loughner’s attorney his defense?
