Palin to Christie: Real Courage is cutting when you have a surplus – like I did

Palin says that Christie is forced to cut budgets because NJ is broke. But she points out that when she became Governor of Alaska, she cut even though she had a surplus:

Seriously? Are you that clueless as to the Fed’s ability to inflate asset prices simply by turning on a switch to the printing press? Read up on how US monetary policy works and then come back and discuss.

Your stupid insult is a nonsequtur. Of course the Fed printing money inflates prices.

But as I said...The banks borrowed money from the feds and the banks paid that money back plus interest in almost every case. The net effect on the cost to the taxpayers was almost zero...and that factors in the cost of inflation.

And thanks for the pointed Populist/Marxist rhetoric as well as your ignorance that there was already a revenue sharing program already in place, paying most of Alaska’s operating expenses and paying every resident an average of $1,000.00 per year since 1976. (See; “Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend”)

But go ahead keep making a spectacle of yourself. We’ve learned a lot about your brand of “conservatism” in the process.

When you inflate the prices of the mortgage backed securities, of course the banks are going to pay back their debts. But this is really an inflation tax.

Yeah, a revenue system that encouraged no new development, shut out the Big 3's competitors and resulted in an inexorable decline in revenue to Alaska because of declining Prudhoe Bay output, opportunities for competition and little new exploration because the Big 3 ran the show.

Hell, even your hero Frank Murkowski understood that. He changed the tax system and went to a 22.5% net-revenue tax to bring in some competition before Palin even got into the process. Murkowski made the Corrupt Bastards Club happy (and rich) and a few people went to jail, but so what, right?

You are one of the most disingenous people I've seen here, and that's saying a lot.

To be fair, Christie never had a surplus during his time in office. We don’t know what he would do.

“We’ve learned a lot about your brand of “conservatism” in the process.”

This from someone who is still open to cap and tax gun grabber, Mike Castle supporting Chris Christie. We know all we need to know about your brand of “conservatism”.

BTW, you can’t share revenue from leases the oil companies refuse to drill. Didn’t mention that part about revenue sharing, did you.

You live up there in Alaska and elect a harridan statist like Murkowski and you have the gumption to come lecture me about conservatism. You voted for her, did you not? If not, prove it. Show me the posts where you supported Joe Miller and you win back a sliver of the credibility you lost by your “openness” to Chris Christie.

“You are one of the most disingenous people I’ve seen here, and that’s saying a lot.”

When you give him the facts, Al, he slinks away. A complete phony blowhard. He converts no one with his foolishness. And he is thoroughly disingenuous. He has outed himself as having a financial ax to grind against Palin and VR called him on it.

And what is his response?

Crickets

Every time he shows up on a thread, I am going to repost his Atlantic Richfield and Sohio post. Some of the PDS crew are not here for malice but for lucre. And some are here for both.

I’m not voting for anyone who is “receptive” to disarming law-abiding citizens or for a big lib RINO. I haven’t even heard from the possible Republican candidates all that much and won’t vote for any of ‘em until I do.

Palin made a good decision for Alaska, herself, and her family in resigning the Governorship. She’s NOT RUNNING, at least not yet. The PALPABLE HATRED of her, even on here,is unbecoming. - I’d take her in a New York nanosecond over this COMMUNIST-MARXIST BUTT that’s now warming the seat in the Oval Office. He can keep it warm for, hopefully IF Republicans don’t devour each other, a more worthwhile truly Conservative butt.

Does she even know how to reload? Properly sight? Hit a target? As we saw, Daddy Chuck or maybe Todd have to handle the rifles for Caribou Barbie, the tough Mama Grizzly! (yeah, right). One of the biggest phonies ever.

It's a zero sum game. When the government lends money to the banks, you get an inflation tax. When the banks pay the money bank in full with interest, you have a deflation refund.

Of course with Obama and the Democrats coming into power, once the money is paid back, the government uses it for something else and that's when get a nonrefundable inflation tax.

And, I won’t do the silly vote stealing opportunity of voting early.

How does early voting steal votes? I don't get it.

The Fed is a private entity and is technically separate from the Treasury. If they pump money into the system (which was on the order of trillions of dollars) and through that the price of the underlying assets go up, of course the Treasury is going to get repaid. All this is is money indirectly going from the Fed to the Banks and back to the Treasury. So the Treasury appears to be repaid in full, but they have just been repaid with printed dollars.

The banks never repaid the Fed; they repaid Treasury.

BTW, the Treasury has not come out a net gainer on TARP even though some of it may have been paid back. You did not say that it did, but I just want to emphasize that.

Monetary policy has a much greater effect than fiscal policy does, but the problem is, even within the Republican Party, people fear calling out the Fed.

” She is not in the fight, she is on Facebook. She cut and ran from the fight. “

Actually, it is Romney who was silent while Obama ran roughshod with his leftist policies.

Palin has been the only one fighting him that is a potential candidate. She also has raised money and supported candidates that will fight Obama.

You’re ackbasswords in your analysis.

You are mistaking concern for hatred. Nobody on FreeRepublic hates Sarah Palin. I assure you of that. If you can’t deal with friendly concern about her, you’re doomed if she runs for office and have to put up with the real hatred from her real enemies. The whole point of this article is that once she left her position as Governor FOR WHATEVER REASON, she lost the priviledge of calling another Governor a coward. That is a valid argument, whether you agree or not.

It gives the democrats a longer opportunity to vote early and often.

We need one day to vote and much more limited absentee voting. I also wouldn’t mind having everyone re-register every couple of years with a photo that is stored on the computer and can be compared when they come into vote. Facial recognition software could be used to make sure duplicates are not registered.

Cecily, that smacks of a smarmy leftist remark. “Phony”, you say, to what end? Do you think that hunting scenes bring her votes? Those hunters who like her are already in her camp. Bob
