Hey guys (this is to everyone kinda), I held my nose and voted for McCain ONLY so I could vote for Palin. While I like Palin, I just wanted to get some ideas. Personally, I don’t believe that she can win a Presidential election. I think since the MSM has been running hit pieces on her over and over, she may not be electable. For obvious reasons, no liberal will vote for her, but I think a lot of conservatives are wishy washy on her now too. I think she would make a fair president (I haven’t seen one that I would consider “Good” like a washington or Jefferson yet, so I say “fair”), but I think a lot of others could do as good a job, too.

I’m not knocking Mrs. Palin, but, that having been said, can anyone help me form a persuasive argument for conservatives and independents who are borderline? I think if Palin were the nominee, she’d get maybe 35% of the vote, and 45-50% or so would be against her (for the Dem), and 10-15% may just sit out, which I would hate to happen. Again, like I said, I would vote for her as nominee if she;s on the ticket, but (anecdotally), I’d say at least 1/3 of the conservatives (or “conservative leaning Republicans” I guess, as I’m an independent too) I know wouldn’t. There are a lot of Ron Paul fans in this area (who will push for him here), but will vote straight Republican on a ticket, but there are a lot who won’t, and that’s just my state.

Any thoughts would be helpful. I’ve kinda drifted off topic, but I’m just looking for info that could be persuasive for Mrs. Palin as a candidate who can win this, and be the right person. I’m convinced, but there are several million who are not. Thanks for the help in advance.

P.S. (I guess ultimately it may have to wait till we see who IS the nominee, but it’s good to get a head start!)

There is a point to be made about Bush that the Left and their media were so over-the-top in attacking Bush, that they actually ended up helping him.

You wouldn’t by any chance be a Mitten, out there in Utah, would you? Identity politics seem to prevail in your state and I doubt Palin would get more than 35% in the primary there—though she’d be just fine in the general.

I love Sarah Palin. She speaks the truth head on and doesn't hedge around any question. I like that. I've read her articles on WSJ and other places. She definitely has a head on her shoulders an can give quick eloquent answers to difficult questions. But, I think she has been too smeared by the media and too much bias from those who think she's too cute to think, including many conservatives including conservative women. bah But I think she is very powerful doing what she does best, threatening from the sidelines and perhaps helping to winnow down our final choices. I personally don't think she's really considering running. Today, my choices are Scott Walker,Chris Christy, Michele Bachman, Paul Ryan. Please NO NEWT-he’s over, NO HUckabee-too wishy washy-no Trump. Mitt would be ‘could be great but he will be smeared with Mormonism and worse, his Massachusetts Obama care.
