Nuke Pills Top $200 Per Pack On Auction Sites; Prices up 1900% in Just a Few Days

As the effects of the nuclear disaster in Japan remain unclear, panicked US residents are doing whatever they can to get their hands on Potassium Iodide pills.

Distributors of the FDA recommended pills have run out of stock, with one manufacturer reporting that they sold some 250,000 individual packets in a single weekend.

As we reported in What Your Grocery Store Will Look Like In An Emergency, at the onset of a far-from-equilibrium event, the essentials go first. In Japan, food and especially water have become scarce.

The panic is spreading, and residents in the US, fearing a fallout cloud crossing the pacific and affecting Western states, are stocking up as well.

The top priority? Potassium Iodide – or nuke pills.

In recent days, the Surgeon General has advised concerned West Coast residents to get a hold of Potassium Iodide in the event of a radiation threat in the US.

The supply crunch and high demand has forced buyers to turn to the secondary market for acquiring the FDA recommended potassium iodide supplements, driving prices to upwards of $200 for a 14 dose packet. The suggested retail price offered by the supplier at NukePills.com is $10 per pack, indicating that demand has forced prices up as much as 1900% in just a few days.

A few years back, I sent each of my relatives a 14 day supply of these KI pills for Christmas.

I was/am trying to anticipate terrorist activity.

Suckers.
I’ll stick to my wine collection. Far more protection in the tannins and more enjoyment in the consumption.

NYTimes says the plume will hit the west coast Friday.
You know the plume they claimed wouldn’t happen, couldn’t happen. The one that NO WAY would travel all that distance to the U.S....yeah that plume...

Of course radiation will cause no damage...right? Right?

If you get cancer it will be because of your diet, weight, excercise, didn’t excercise, smoked, didn’t smoke or whatever, but never from radiation...

Keep following everything the N.Y. Times tells you to do. They wouldn't steer you wrong.

You can get the same amount of KI by taking 3-5 grams of kelp each day and you can get this at a vitamin or natural foods store.

My grandmother’s four sisters were within 20 miles of Hiroshima on August 6, 1945. None required medical care and they all lived well into the 1980s.

Read further from the Times..."Health and nuclear experts emphasize that radiation in the plume will be diluted as it travels and, at worst, would have extremely minor health consequences in the United States, even if hints of it are ultimately detectable."

WoW, this is Hugh!!!

This is so crazy...just like Americans to jump the gun...even those in Japan are laughing at us for the “panic” buttons being pushed by the media. Too many here have lost the ability to think...they simply are in a reaction mode 24/7.

They are all accustomed to a false sense of safety...if it comes in pill form you can bet they’ll take anything rather than think things thru themsleves...such idots.
