A Chilling Study in Cause and Effect - Finding the true cause of the Kandahar Riots
Illinois Review ^ | April 3, 2011 A.D. | John F. Di Leo

In a small town in Florida on March 20, the pastor of a small church held a public event: burning a koran for his audience and a video camera. His American Christian audience reacted as one would expect from them: they were happy to be a part of this provocative event; they returned to their homes and jobs after the service, and went on with their lives.

The world continued to turn… nobody of substance cared about Pastor Jones’ latest attempt at news coverage… until almost two weeks later, when it made the news half a planet away, in Afghanistan.

The president of Afghanistan denounced the event; imams and mullahs hammered it in their mosques. Their Afghan muslim audience reacted as one would expect from them: they streamed out into the streets, hunting down foreigners, beating hundreds of UN aides, NATO staffers, contractors, travelers, journalists, soldiers… rioting in the streets, burning the shops in their own neighborhoods, destroying property, attacking innocent bystanders. At least a hundred injuries and dozens of killings were confirmed by the second day of the riots.

In a world in which thousands die tragically every day – from starvation to murder, from disease and neglect – these events might not seem particularly newsworthy. When aren’t there riots in that part of the world? When aren’t innocents killed? It happens every day.

The news media says that the Kandahar riots were caused by the burning of a koran in Florida. Were they really?

If only we appease the practitioners of the ROP, they will love and admire us!

"..Were they really? .."

I suspect it was caused by community organizers who deserve some serious lead therapy.

No matter what we do to or for the muslims, at the end of the day, we are still infidels and they will still hate us.

This so-called Christian minister has blood on his hands. And for what? A publicity stunt.

Did you know Islam is a religion of peace, tolerance and mercy?

I believe it really was because of the civilian killings and the taking of photos of the “trophies” by the US servicemen. But that would reflect badly on “The One”, just as Al Ghraib did on Bush, so they deflected it to this stupid pastor, with the willingness of the MSM.

It’s amazing that the media is ready to tar and feather Jones for this HOWEVER, when a young female CBS journalist is raped, sexually assaulted and debased by Egyptian “rebels,” they scurry her off and not a peep about the depravity of the Muslims who committed such atrocities. Were there burnings of mosques in the US following such terrible acts? Were there killings or beheadings? Of course not, but regardless, the liberals here will ignore Islamic violence and try to convince everyone that it’s only because of Jones (or Bush, or whoever) that the muslims try to kill us.

It’s the media’s fault for reporting it.
They chose what stories get the grease.

No it is the Ahole’s fault entirely. It he doesn’t do it there is nothing for the media to report.

As opposed to the actual people who set structures on fire, rioted and killed innocent people. Your moral compass is broken. I hope to God you never are on a jury pool you would probably call for the judge to be executed.

Scarves?

Not helmets?

Are our women soldiers second class??

Dumb, very, very dumb!

(but of course, most PC decisions are very, very dumb!)

Nuke ‘em! Any so called religion that riots and kills over cartoons and any other perceived slight needs to be returned to the stone age!

I don’t really think that computes. Are we prepared to give up our freedoms because gangs of murderous killers go around killing people randomly and chopping off their heads, after having been stirred up by clerics driving around with loudspeakers?

If some Muslim jerk half way around the world says, “Stop doing that!” are we obliged to obey?

If we do, then we are already dhimmis, cowering in fear of our Muslim masters.

Whether or not you think it is nice to burn Korans, that kind of insane response simply cannot be tolerated.

t2buckeye, you nailed it.

However offended the muslims are at a koran burning, they have every right to be angry, every right to think the west is rude, every right to refuse to trade with us, to buy our goods on the open market.

but it does not give them the right to commit mayhem and murder. Anyone who blames Jones for this is giving in to the worst kind of political blackmail.

As you said, t2buckeye, we don’t attack innocent muslims just because other guilty muslims assaulted or killed our innocents. Those that react like that are barbarians — savages.

“This so-called Christian minister has blood on his hands. And for what? A publicity stunt.”

No to prove a point...which is that Islam is an INTOLERANT religion, even to the point of killing innocent people over a book burning.

That may all be obvious to us FReepers, but there are A LOT of people at all levels of government in Western countries, that have NO CLUE about this little characteristic of Islam.

I’m glad he’s bringing it out, but I wish he didn’t have to.

He is endangering our people and for NO reason except his own self-aggrandizement.

There is no need to give these creeps any more reasons to resort to violence. They do it every day all over Africa and the Middle East.

Don’t pretend that Minister Moron is doing anything except accomplishing Satan’s work. Christ would have NOTHING to do with stunts like this.

I’ll agree with that part of it...using a church as a cover doesn’t help.

But I also agree with the way he’s helping to get the message out...which seems to be a REALLY, REALLY, difficult thing to do - despite them flying planes into buildings.
