Bless you, Fred Nerks! I saw that article in that magazine on a website, but at the time I was unable to print it out or email it to myself. I looked for it again, just last week, and the database it WAS in appears to have been changed to exclude that article. Was this in Ebony, circa 1974? I had thought at the time that Obama Onyango might be BHO Sr. So it’s Uncle Omar?

...So it’s Uncle Omar?

YES. It would be interesting to find out when he arrived in the US. The way that comment reads, it must have been written not long after Ghana Independence.

March 6, 1957-

Just how long Omar had been in the US before he wrote that comment I would like to know...and as the kenyan son-of-a-goat-herder said in his own words at an interview in Hawaii in June, 1962 that he had not been back to kenya for seven years, it makes one wonder - did he and 'uncle Omar' come to the US at the same time?

...the names he mentions, W.E.B. Du Bois, Marcus Garvey and Malcolm X - they are all 'saints' depicted at the 'church' of the 'reverend' Wright.
