“East Ten-nessy”

I believe residents of the eastern area of Tennessee would pronounce the state name TENN’-essee (heavy emphasis on the first syllable).

Real Fur East (and sometimes Eoyast) ~ Tenny-see coal mining country. They have their own take on how to see it. Does start with a heavy emphasis on the TEN part.

Went to grade school with these guys after their folks brought them up North. Met my first snake handler ~ the religious kind.
