I just got this e-mail from a friend:

This morning I was reading an article on Yahoo, that was about the release of Obama’s birth certificate. i then went to the comments section. it was there, a poster stated that the hospital that is listed on the certificate, did not exist in that name until 1978.
Ipassed over it and read another page or two of comments. Then it dawned on me..hey check back on that one and then google the hospital name. When i went back 3 pages to the post, it was gone..looked at many pages, couldn’t find it. Vanished.
So, I took the name, Kapiolani Materinty and Gynecolgical Hospital and googled it. Sure as s-—t, it didnt have that name till 1978. In 1961 it was the Kauikeolani materinty center and hospital.
I went back to the certificate and it has the new name on it. How does a hospital name get on a document, 17 yrs before it existed?

This has been mentioned on other FR threads and it appears that the Nordyke twins had the same hospital reported on their birth certificate. So evidently this was the customary offical name of the hospital at the time.
