Herman Cain said he didn’t know what he would do about Iraq and Afghanistan. He’d decide once he became president and had more information. In one sense, it’s a safe answer, but it doesn’t make me feel confident him as a candidate. I’m not going to vote for someone who won’t give an answer on this question.

Santorum was the clear winner. He was consistent in his answers, didn’t come across as a flip-flopper (as Pawlenty did several times), and showed that he was not afraid to go after Obama head-on. He also showed some class, following Reagan’s 11th commandment in not taking the bait and going after Gingrich’s personal failures.

His closing statement was the strongest. His comment that he has taken on his own party (including Bush) will resonate with voters.

Oh, and Ron Paul....if it’s anything like CPAC, he packed the audience with his college-age libertarian groupies, lining them up with free tickets. Romney did the same thing. It’s how straw polls are won.

I disagree about Cain’s answer on Iraq and Afghanistan. After all, we have a President now who said very clearly what he would do as a candidate and guess what — he’s done JUST THE OPPOSITE on every single foreign policy issue.

Clearly Cain will be a domestic policy candidate and would pick a VP or other advisors for foreign policy. But he loves American and won’t apologize and won’t prosecute CIA investigators.

That is honesty ! How could he possibly give another answer, he is not privy to the intelligence.

I dont know if Santorum will get the nomination or even win a single primary but no one will work harder and campaign harder than him. His 2006 effort was impressive but unfortunately it was just a bad year for republicans.

You obviously missed a question. Santorum was asked about Medicare Part D because he had voted for it and later said he regretted that vote. In his answer, Santorum responded that he wanted to replicate the Medicare Part D experience. How is that not a flip-flop? You vote for it, you denounce the vote, you say, "I was right all along, let's do more!"
