Because, quite simply, responsible conservatives have a duty to call out idiocy and lunacy on their own side. This birther stuff started as a marginally silly issue and has morphed into downright stupidity.
It is important that responsible conservatives make it clear that this birther nonsense is fringe babble and not representative of Republican and conservative thinking. For the most part prominent conservatives are doing exactly that. There is a good reason why Hannity, Levin, Coulter, Malkin, Beck, etc, etc, etc will have nothing to do with this ridiculous conspiracy theory. Courts will continue tossing these eligibility claims out as garbage and prominent Republican/conservative politicians will have nothing to do with it.
What you are pushing is not conservative, it's hack conspiracies that make anyone associated with them look batty.
I don't know who you are supporting right now. I am hoping Palin gets in myself. Whoever your candidate of choice is the one thing you can count on that person NOT talking about is birther conspiracy theories. Hussein will be defeated on economic issues. Period. The economy will drive this election and our candidates need to focus almost entirely on that.
As for me pushing anything, the only thing I'm pushing is defending and upholding the constitution. Pity you believe the constitution is a marginally silly issue morphed into downright stupidity. Responsible conservatives uphold the constitution not attack those who merely want it upheld as the law of the land. Irresponsible conservatives who seek to destroy the constitution are traitors - period.
Obama is ineligible - period - and has nothing to do with WHERE he was born. Its WHO he was born to by his own admission - that's not conspiracy - that's fact.
The economy means nothing where there is no rule of law; elections mean nothing where there is no rule of law. Everything we hold dear hinges on whether the Constitution will be followed or not. If its not, everything else is dead. It is my fondest hope (which is why this will not die) that not just Obama is brought up on treason, but every single person who defended him will be as well. Including those of you on FR who have sought to divert this issue. Treason charges cannot come soon enough.
