Cynic that I am (I’m a veteran of the DukeLax Frame), I’m not discounting the possibility that Bachmann may have been put into the race by the Rove/Mittens/RINO combine with an eye toward pulling votes away from Palin.

The hiring of Rollins to serve as an attack sock-puppet makes the theory even more likely.

I’m absolutely convinced that is what happened with the Fred Thompson thing in 2008. His role was to keep conservatives uncommitted and off-balance, then pull out after it was too late to coalesce around another conservative.

He performed exactly as he was supposed to.

That's exactly what is going on. It's part of the GOP's Stop Sarah campaign.

Before he ran, it was known that Fred Thompson was a friend of McCain. It was also fairly clear that Fred liked McCain in at least one debate.

Plenty of people at the time were saying Fred was a stalking horse for his old buddy McCain. It wouldn't surprise me if Bachmann has been purchased to do a similar deed. It's obvious that Bachmann takes votes from Palin.

And it makes me laugh to see people get disappointed by the likes of Bachmann. It's like I always say, if you're disappointed, that just means your expectations were too high. And yet I'm called a cynic. You cannot be too cynical when it comes to politics. It's not possible. It's POLITICS, for crying out loud. Cynicism goes with politics like salt on a pretzel.

your post is worth repeating...I'm starting to be convinced that the only difference between Dems and the elitist establishment RINO Pubies is that the Dems race down the tubes quicker..
