>>>Iran is building nukes to use them.<<<

A M.A.D policy against Iran must include the destruction and polution of all so-called “Holy” sites, beginning with Mecca, in addition to the destruction of Iran.

That is Ron Paul’s position. That was also George Bush’s and the Republican Party’s position until 9/11.

BS, we haven't fought a war to win it since WWII.

That's Paul's position too? The same Paul who thinks 9/11 was an inside job, Iran has a right to a nuclear weapon? The anti Semite?

Feh, go push the nut case Paul on someone else.

I was for bombing Mecca and Medina right after the 9-11-01 attacks. But that would be a strike on Saudi Arabia not Iran. Not that that causes me any stress.

>>>Murry Rothbard, the father of the modern Libertarian movement and Ron Pauls mentor, wrote this on Reagan. It is a hate filled screed on Reagan and his ideals.<<<

Rothbard’s biggest beef was on Reagan’s tax increases.

>>>Ron Paul does not even condemn the truthers who gravitate to his campaign. He just doesn’t, and there is no way to paper over that. In fact, Paul is on record saying the only reason he doesn’t get involved with finding “the truth of 9-11” is because he is too busy with other things.<<<

“Finding the truth” does not necessarily mean you think our government or Israel were behind it. The truth of 911 needs to be “found” and publicized. But Freepers already know it, namely that Jamie Gorelick tied the hands of our intelligence agencies. She needs to be publicly excoriated.

Ron Paul’s position on the 911 Truther movement can be found in this video:

He could compromise, couldn’t he; but then he would not be a conservative. There is no conservative legislation.

>>>Below is the most definitive thing I’ve seen on the important differences between Conservatives and Ron Paul Libertarians.<<<

Monos’s article has misconceptions and innuendos that need to be addressed. There is also one thing I found while researching Mono’s points that is disturbing. Here are some misconceptions:

>>>#4) Paul has even advocated leaving all of our overseas military bases and just protecting ourselves with a few submarines.<<<

Regarding the submarine part, Paul was making a point that we would have a strong deterrent with only a few subs. Combined that with enhanced intelligence gathering and strong border security, which Paul advocates, and we would have a strong national defense.

As implied in the article, a missile can reach our shores in a matter of minutes. The only deterrent is a nuclear shield, or diplomacy. Maybe I am wrong. Do you know of others?

Paul also wants to transform our intelligence agencies to professional management rather than political management.

>>>#5) Earmark Lies: Ronnie claims to be against earmarks, and he votes against every appropriations bill. However, the fun little political game he plays is that he knows the bills will pass, and he adds his earmarks in while the bill is in committee, then he votes against it so he can say, “Hey I voted against this, but hey, shucks, I’ll take the money!” He still gets $400 million in earmarks every year. Liar.<<<

No, you are either a liar, Monos, or ignorant. That misconception by Monos is a popular smear on FR, but it is just that, a misconception.

The total in the budget is set before a single amendment (or earmark) is made. Any money left over (not earmarked) goes to Obama and his union and regulatory thugs.

One more time: if Ron Paul does not earmark, Obama gets that money to spend ash e damn wall pleases. Ron Paul’s earmarking is an act of patriotism under this administration.

>>>#6) Racial Sterotyping: Ron Paul’s newsletter has contained quotes like these:

“If you have ever been robbed by a black teen-aged male, you know how unbelievably fleet-footed they can be.”

“We don’t think a child of 13 should be held responsible as a man of 23. That’s true for most people, but black males age 13 who have been raised on the streets and who have joined criminal gangs are as big, strong, tough, scary and culpable as any adult and should be treated as such.

He’s the only lawmaker to oppose the 40th Anniversary recognizing of ‘64 Civil Rights Act. . . Regardless of whether or not he is truly racist is irrelevant. <<<

Because Monos is going to smear him, anyway.

Paul believes the CR Act of 64 decreased individual liberty (which it did), decreased individual liberty (which it did) and led to affirmative action, quotas, and other forms of positive discrimination (which it did).

Now this is the disturbing part. I had been out of the loop for a while, and was not a frequent visitor to FR, so I missed the FR thread titled, “Ron Paul: Ground Zero Mosque Opponents are “Islamophobes.”

Whoa! Ron Paul’s version of National Defense is nuclear deterrents combined with strong border security, and enhanced intelligence gathering. My question is:

What good is “strong border security” when millions of muslims are within our borders?

None of the issues Freepers had with Ron Paul’s Foreign Policy bothered me. Not one. But it is his domestic security policy that worries me. Islam is 100% incompatible with the western way of life. It cannot coexist with a free people without conflict.

I don’t guess my wife and I will be ripping the “Sara Palin 2012” stickers off our cars any time soon.

Hey, I am a Reagan fan, and my wife adores him. I read that comment about foreign policy, and it seemed more flippant than declarative. But did he had an awful lot to say about tax policy during the Reagan year (admittedly, much of it was not Reagan’s, but congress’).

>>>The same Paul who thinks 9/11 was an inside job . . . The anti Semite?<<<

Smearing a political opponent is a tactic of the left, so I assume you have proof of these claims.

BTW, I no longer push Ron Paul based on his domestic security policy. See #269.

>>>He doesn’t, then name something, ANYTHING he has ever actually done, other than talk. Other than acquiring as many earmarks as possible.<<<

That is a mischaracterization. Ron Paul has not voted for a budget in over a decade, and he only earmarks to keep the money from ending up hands of the executive branch.

I just asked what he had ever actually accomplished, other than acquiring earmarks. You can not name anything can you? I know how earmarks work. The blame America first candidate says he is against them. If he were in any way honest and truly against them he would not put them in every bill he knows will pass. Notice that he does not put them in bills that probably will not?

Sure could have fooled me and everyone else here on this thread.

Or is that a tactic of the left too?
