See this old thread: Whole Foods CEO writes about alternative to Obamacare; liberals go ballistic

I, personally, don't see the issue with Goldberg shopping there.

As far as Banana Republic, well, before it was bought by the Gap, they had the best casual clothes around for both men and women (as well as a really good travel book section).

I still have a hard time wrapping my arms around inserting politics into shopping. Shopping should be about finding the best combination of price, quality, and features based upon ones' budget. When one starts to insert "union made", "support liberal politics", "fair trade", or whatever, does that not create some sort of artificiality that does not need to exist?

For example, I don't buy Starbucks. Not because they support liberal politics, but because their coffee sucks and is overpriced. I don't eat at Red Lobster, again, not because of them supporting PP, but because I think their food is terrible (likewise with Olive Garden).

A lot of folks talk about "Made in the USA" as a big buying decision. Well, the reason why so much industrial activity has been taken off-shore is because of excessive government regulation making it almost impossible to buy something here. If you, in turn, support this, rather than using the value argument, are you not supporting this government regulation? Would it not be better to support getting rid of that excessive regulation so that manufacturers could bring jobs back here?

I don't particularly like liberal attempts to "moralize." Or liberal catcalls when conservatives refuse to act in accordance with their expectations.

WORD on Red Lobster and Olive Garden. I had RL sussed 30 years ago and never went back, didn’t eat at OG until recently, never again. Are they owned by the same company? The food in both has the same plastic quality.
