It’s not a whine. I happen to cherish Freerepublic and drek like you are soiling the carpets. Your alinskyesque tactics will not work on me, little one.

...express concern that a fake birth certificate would be used to document the president’s eligibility to run in Maricopa County...

1. I didn't know that candidates had to be validated at the county level. I thought the state certified candidates for President.

2. I thought that the candidate's name on the ballot was a placeholder for Electors to the Electoral College, not for the candidate himself. If the candidate is not being elected, then what qualifications would the county be looking for? Again, isn't that the state's function?

May I ask you a hypothetical? Let’s say there was a site funded by Soros. It’s main purpose is to ‘debunk’ ‘birthers’. Let’s say this site mocks and ridicules ‘birthers’, and proceeds on the assumption that they’re all insane. Let’s say they tout something they call the “truth squad”. This is a group of anti-birthers who post on conservative sites and attempt to kick the snot out of any ‘birther’ that doesn’t capitulate in the face of their ‘superior’ intellects and arguments.

Purely hypothetically, let’s suppose you are considered a premier member of the “truth squad”. Would it bother you at all that you were getting props from far left Soros-funded moonbats...or would you wear it as badge of honor?

I have never considered a point you seem to imply: if 'bam's presidency is determined to be illegitimate, then can the judges he appointed be recalled. I'm doubtful, since congress ratified their nomination.

It would be hotly contested, no doubt. However, the Congress is only given purvue to ratify a candidate selected by the President. If the President is proven illegitimate ... an usurper ... then it is entirely arguable his choices were not offered in good faith of the Constitution or the constituency. At a minimum, I believe his appointments would necessarily be re-considered and re-ratified. Again, it would be hotly contested, but that is my $.02.

And, if the best we can do is vote him out -- I'm happy to do my part in that effort as well. I can juggle both tasks.

Our AZ State Legislature passed an elligibility Bill but our Gov. Brewer, McCain's good friend, vetoed it saying that it was a distraction!

I would hope that y'all would veto Gov. Brewer at the next opportunity.

Anyone who thinks enforcing the Constitution of the United States is a distraction, shouldn't be dogcatcher, or dog "Stuff" remover, let alone governor.

All I meant was that County Sheriffs are the ONLY law enforcement officers mentioned/authorized in the Constitution.

Umm, I can't find the word "sheriff" anywhere in the original Constitution, the Bill of Rights, or the other amendments thereto. What section do you think mentions them. (The Constitution would not authorize them, since it only speaks to organization of the federal government and some restrictions on the powers of the states.

the fact that the President of the Senate, Dick Cheney, also signed off on Buckwheat's eligibility.

I think you'll find that the VP only signs off on the vote count, not on the eligibility of the candidates.

Not eligible is not eligible, regardless of who signed off on what. He either is, or is not. Just like a majority of the electoral college can't make someone eligible who is not, neither can the President of the Senate.

I haven’t found specific mention in the Constitution either, I just remember reading about this on FR- I believe that the discussion was about the Constitutional legality of local police departments vs the Constitutional legality of county sheriffs. I will keep searching for that discussion.

Next, if the document is found to be a forgery, then would the next step be to see if perjury has been committed in signing an affidavit that claims NBC status? I think this one is harder to prove since the NBC definition is still wishy washy for many.

Not the part that requires birth in the US. If the BC was forged, what other reason would their be than to cover up a non US birth? The definition of "US Birth" might or might not include birth to US citizen parents serving abroad in the Armed Forces or Diplomatic Service, but it certainly does not include birth outside the US other than those possible exceptions, neither of which apply to The Won.

Like everything else related to Obama there is forgery, lies, and corruption. There is a lot of controversary surrounding the OCON DOC’s in Hawaii. But IIRC the person in charge, his name escapes me at the moment, was said to claim there was no BC on file and he refused to certify the nomination certificate. There is a good bit information here. http://thedailypen.blogspot.com/2011/01/o-con-had-legal-help-from-non-partisan.html

I think people's willingness to tolerate some of his more egregious escapades is drawing to an end.

Bad news for us: Yesterday I saw an acquaintance (husband of my wife's college roommate) for the second time in the past 30 years. He's a retired engineer, Purdue graduate. We talked some politics. He doesn't care. Bachman's stupid. The economy's bad because of Bush and his two expensive wars. (He didn't care that Obama escalated in Afghanistan and started a third war in Libya.) It's also bad because of the Republican Congress. (He didn't care that the Dems had absolute control for the first two years of the Obama Administration.) He's voting for Obama. He's not an isolated idiot.
