Ok, I have some good news and some bad news about this INCREDIBLE 99 cent quarter chicken meal. First the good news:
It truly is only 99 cents and it includes rice and beans at La Parrilla restaurant. NO coupons needed. I checked it out today with some trepidation since I usually like to eat a half chicken. However, while waiting for my order to be presented I noticed a plate with a HUGE mound of rice plus a large bowl of beans. I figured it must be part of an order for a whole chicken. I was WRONG! It turned out to be my order. I went to condiments table and piled up a bowl chock full of marinated onions. Then I mixed the rice, beans, and onions together. That along with the quarter chicken really filled me up. In fact, I was so full, I don't know if I could have even finished a half chicken if it had been available. Also the chicken itself was outstanding. Definitely MUCH better than Boston Market chicken and I think even better than Pollo Tropicale. The onions are really outstanding due to the way they are marinated for an incredible flavor and texture.
And now for the bad news and this will make many of you cry:

PING!
BTW, I don't know if Carlton will be selling his jerk chicken any time soon since the city has been giving him problems over the business license.
Would you Fed-ex me one? I’m really hungry.
first I would verify that the meat is indeed chicken and not some other ‘white meat’..
The price is ridiculous. It would cost you more to buy that amount of chicken and rice and beans in the supermarket. I’ll think of you while eating my 99 cent quarter chicken lunch tomorrow.
Most definitely chicken. No need to yell, “Soylent Green is PEOPLE!!!”
Please do :(
“And now for the bad news and this will make many of you cry:”
That the ‘chicken’ in the meal was actually cat?
The only time I have ever wondered if what I was eating was really chicken was at this vietnamese restaurant that had a special red chicken dish. It looked like a half a chicken, but that is where the similarities stopped.
Weasel: The other yellow meat.
I hear Immigration will be raiding the joint at 10:59 am tomorrow.
Personally I prefer those La Granja places with the all you can pack and take home six variety onion bar.
Did you spend a lot of time in the toilet?
99 cents + airfare.
Wait, there is more!
Um...Guess where I went for dinner today. I got their 4 to 7 takeout special.
Is it me or have a lot of GOOD coupon deals tailed off in the last few months? I admit I haven’t been diligent but I have been paying attention. I haven’t seen a MM from Walgreens in a long time...
For The Coupon Whisperer, the coupon deals have been getting better and BETTER. You just need to learn ALL the subtle rules of the game and how to play the angles.
after couponing became a TV show, lots of stores are cracking down on coupons....some woman walked out with 3 carts of food for something like 1.89....after coupons. over 400 dollars before coupons...
La Granja rules with their condiment bar and condiment squirt bottles. I wish they had boiled yuca. I love that bland stuff.
Too bads about Carlton. He does his thing there for years and now they start bothering him? Best jerk chicken!
