I said a while ago that more to the point, Fox will NOT allow her to end her contract and it has spurred some animosity between her and Fox. It is more likely they have given her a drop dead date and she must fulfil her contract until then. That is why I think she went to Fox while she was on her first bus tour.
They might be trying to hold on to her until they think she would no longer be a viable candidate. She HAS been trying to reach out to other networks in ways that she does not break her contract with Fox, but she can’r sit for an interview or appear as a guest on any other network. I really don’t think she has a choice.

Palin would never have entered a contract with FOX that she could not have left at will. She is an independent contractor.

She is smart enough to know that FOX could screw her.

Best,

Chris

Fox will NOT allow her to end her contract

You're digging pretty deep for excuses.

So, Fox News would risk the animosity of a potential future president by not letting her out of a contract? So, Sarah's so naive and innocent that she didn't include provisions in the contract to end it were she to run?

I sense you're a Palin backer, but you really cut her short shrift.

Apparently you just completely made this up. Palin could simply say at any time, privately or publicly, that she plans to run for President and Fox News would let her out of her contract immediately. All it took for Gingrich and Santorum was to begin the process of considering setting up exploratory committees and Fox terminated their contracts.

Fox is most certainly NOT holding Palin back from entering the presidential race. Seriously, people need to stop making excuses for her tease campaign. Governor Palin is keeping her options open I suppose, but she has made exactly zero preparations to run for President in 2012.

When Sarah declares, her Fox contract is over. Since Fox can't ‘force’ her not to run, how long she stays and when she leaves is entirely up to her...unless Fox fires her before she declares and that would be highly unlikely.

Actually, if Sarah announces her candidacy, Fox will end her contract for her, even against her will - they already did that to Gingrich and Santorum. Now, I don't know if there might be financial consequences for Sarah over that, but she certainly can get out of the contract if she wishes.

Fox was questionable from the beginning, since they saw fit to bring a bloke like Whorealdo on board. FOX is certainly capable of trying to hold Sarah ‘hostage’.

Sarah isn’t a slave to Fox. She can terminate her contract with them in any number of ways, and you can bet your bottom dollar that her attorneys made sure that she had plenty of exit clauses.

From what I understand, she has the same terms that Newt had, i.e., if she files to run for the nomination, her contract is automatically suspended.
