Between our posts, I took a quick look at Solyndra's filings on the SEC Edgar website. The biggest file is an S-1 offering, amended several times. It looks like the government got convertible preferred stock--straight debt doesn't show up on the balance sheet. It's a big file, so I didn't get to the details of the capital structure--I don't even know if I'm going to bother.

In 2009 they had an annual revenue of about $6 million; in 2010 they had a revenue of $100 million, on which they racked up a big loss. It also lists all of the investors, which are partnerships and don't tell you the names (like Keiser) of who is behind them. Interesting reading, if a bit dry.
