Gingrich one of the original architects of the 1994 Contract with America said his new 21st Century Contract with America will be revealed on Sep. 29 and will be very visionary and very big. He called it exactly what Abraham Lincoln would have campaigned on.

Newt has also said he will debate Obama at any college campus (Obama's own territory), anytime, anywhere, on any subject. Even at Harvard or Berkeley. Somehow you just know that Newt, unlike Bush,, will consistently challenge Obama to real, unmoderated debates. It is a lose/lose for Obama. He can accept and get crushed, or decline and look like he is afraid to defend his record.

Newt didn’t live up to the last contract, why should he this time?
Newt, go home!

Newt, go home! I initially had the same reaction. However, on reflection, let him stir the pot. He won't get the nomination, so we're pretty safe there. But he can make noise and trouble for Obama in the meantime. :)

Keep the pressure, tension and anxiety on Obama.

I'm glad you brought up the economy Mr. Obama. Isn't your campaign's National Finance Chairwoman Penny Pritzker -- and didn't her Chicago Family-owned bank FAIL in 2001 from doing sub-prime lending for ACORN?
I'd like to see that.

Yeah, Newt is unintentionally spotlighting his broken promises.
And this guy is supposed to be “smart.”

I have issues with Newty-boy, however we sure could do worse than this guy. I say give him a break - he could be the right guy at this time. (2 yrs ago I would have thougth he was a nobody but examine the other candidates)

If we follow your rationale. The best thing Newt can do, is go back to being a full time pundit on Fox News. He’ll get more airtime and be better situated to help take down Obama. Right now, Newt is spinning his wheels and blowing smoke.

Good for Newt. We need a plan that is visionary and big. This ship is sinking. I’ll be anxious to see what Newt can come up with. We will all die of old age waiting for McConnell and Boehner to figure something out.

(2 yrs ago I would have thougth he was a nobody but examine the other candidates) I'm inclined to agree. Its early yet, we have time to hear him out. Personally, I'd like to see him team up with Cain.

His wheels and his smoke.
Newt couldn’t make the same debate challenge to Obama if he was a Fox pundit. You and I agree on a lot...let him blow some of that smoke Obama’s way.

Newt didnt live up to the last contract, why should he this time?Actually he did live up the Contract. The Contract called for a number of provisions to be brought to the floor of the house for a vote. He brought every one of them up to the floor for a vote. Some of them passed and some of them didn't. But Newt fulfilled his promises.
FWIW I think Newt is the dark horse in this race. If Perry and Romney self destruct then Newt is the logical 3rd place replacement among the current crop of candidates.
Don't count him out. He is clearly the smartest candidate in the field. He may be politically tone deaf, but he is smarter than any two of the other candidates.

Actually, he did live up to the last contract. The promise was that every one would be voted one. All were voted on and I think 8 out of 10 passed. Your turn.

Actually He did live up to it. IIRC he also got all 10 points voted on in the first 100 days of congress in that session which was also a first. So what part did he not live up to? The first Contract with America was the main focal point that gave us the 1994 conservative revolution in congress. Newt was the Prime mover for all of that. Without Newt that would not have happen.
