Instate tuition for illegals or their anchor babies is the wrong thing to do with our tax dollars. This encourages everyone who can, to enter our country illegally, and we must foot the bill. We abide by the law, the do not. Illegals and their offspring must be deported permanently.
Former Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania piled on the criticism and called Mr. Perry “soft on illegal immigration” and alluded to a Perry speech from 2001 at which the Texan extolled the virtue of studying a “binational health insurance” program between border areas of Texas and Mexico.
“I don’t even think Barack Obama would be for binational health insurance,” the former Pennsylvania Senator quipped, sparking laughter from the audience. “So I think he’s very weak on this issue of American sovereignty and protecting our borders and not being a magnet for illegal immigration.”
The in-state tuition bill has not cost the Texas tax payer one dime of state money. In fact, Texas institutions of higher learning would actually lose tens of millions of dollars in lost tuition payments if the law were repealed. This money is coming from the students and their families; not the Texas tax payer.
