Greedy Geezers, as Rush would say.
Who established "no fault" divorce? Who decided Roe v Wade? This author talks like grammar school and high school students were running the government, sitting on the Supreme Court, and passing Great Society programs. Virtually everything he brings up was a "done deal" before the first Boomer turned 21.
If you're really looking to return to the source of the current mess, you could start with Wilson, or even Teddy Roosevelt, and they pre-date the so-called Greatest Generation.
There are a couple of relevant points; the first being that most of these programs began with modest aims and were later expanded to become the fiscal millstone we see today (therein lies a lesson). The second is that our generation has done nothing to return our nation back to its constitutional roots; in fact, I'd argue that we have accelerated the pace toward a third-world tyranny more than our predecessors.
One last point concerning the boomers. If one could erase all of our economic problems with the wave of a hand, we'll likely never climb out of the moral abyss that will ultimately undo us. It's the fate of all republics. And the brunt of the blame for that tragedy rightfully falls on my generation.
