The mainstream has been stuck on Perry's racist rock and in the process dragging Cain's overplayed hand with it. Michele Bachmann has begun her winter hybernation and Ron Paul has been stuck on impeachment.

Our current crop of candidates aren't getting it done.

She is the main attraction, face it.....

She is also the most known and feared target to date. The opponent has spent considerable time these last three years preparing specifically against her. Don't believe for a moment the "surprises" aren't already planned and set in motion. This is chess. Humbling herself to VP slot is the ultimate Queen's Sacrifice. It is the unexpected move that upsets the board. We win easily and without expensing many pieces.

Speaking of "main attractions" is a play to vanity. Vanity is game loser. Look how much vanity has cost Obama. If the only reason "Palin needs to be at the top" is for the sake of vanity, then it is a decision not thought well through. Certainly I would support her, but a battle to protect the Queen at all costs often loses the chess match entirely.

In a two-person race between Romney and Palin:

Only 25% of registered Republicans are moderates (commies in my book).

Of the Independents who are voting in Republican primaries in open and semi-open states, practically all of them are going ultra-conservative. The 2010 Midterm election was proof of this.

Sarah has at least an 80/20 advantage over Romney for the nomination.

In a four-way split, Palin and Cain would split the conservative vote (80%/2 ~ 40% each to fight over), and Romney and Perry would split the corrupt RINO, anti-American vote (20%/2 ~ 10% each to fight over).

I see that. I love Cain almost as much as Palin. But you know Romney is in deep doo doo when Cain that easily tied him up in the polls. People just do not want Romney. Plus Cain is a rockstar.

I think Sarah is the best idea, and could deal with a Cain VP to give him some experience. But not the head chair.

I'm not opposed to that at all -- it's just the more costly route. With three decades of successful business experience and political run-ins dating back to the early 90's, I easily have as much confidence in Cain's abilities as I do Palin's. And in the current environment, I see advantage in Cain being the front runner. That is not at all to say I wouldn't be pleased with roles reversed.

That depends upon the priorities. I hear jobs-jobs-jobs touted as priority one. In that arena, I would look first to Cain. With anti-Federalism as priority, states and citizens rights, I would look first to Palin. As a pair, they make a complete package regardless of which has the "V" in their title.

I agree 100% -- my point lies in which arrangement of the ticket is an easier victory with the least divisiveness and expense. And, of course, there is that hidden benefit achieved by her accepting a VP slot : it wastes a tremendous amount of the opponent's resources that have been invested in preparing for a target Presidential candidate that does not appear.

I would welcome her to the race. HOWEVER ... I should point out that if, rather than coming to the fore, she instead threw her weight behind Cain -- to which Cain would thank her with a VP slot -- this election would already be over, and they would win in a landslide, and Palin would not need to spend a fraction of her coffers in the effort

You know that is some tremendous thinking there. Seriously could Cain beat Hillary. I do not know the answer my gut says the populist wins and Hillary is seen as part of the problem but that will be tough-It is hard to beat fairy tales, i.e first black president, first female president. I do like your idea of Palin playing king maker with Cain. Its a pretty dominating strategy. I would prefer Cain as the vp but I cannot argue the dominance.
