I remember my Philosophy of Law prof at Arizona who was a graduate of Columbia and participated in the ‘68 protests and sit-ins telling us that fundamentally, spring time is for rioting because nothing turned on college chicks (back in the day) more than earnest protest against something or other. Add spring lust to the mix and emotions ran high.
But at least the 60s protesters were smart enough to understand that
a) spring time is for lovers and
b) fall turns to winter quickly - especially in New York.
Can’t wait to see all those trustafarians slink back to mommy’s basement empty handed after the first frost.
Some people are very easily led.
Liberal tyrants bank on that.
The single biggest impediment to education is the firmly held belief that one already knows it all. There is an old Buddhist story that observes that a man with a full cup cannot benefit from a well. Likewise these useful idiots cannot learn anything from someone like Walter Williams because they already “ know” he’s wrong. Their unshakeable, innately held belief about capitalism will not allow them to understand the truth that collectivism will impoverish them all.
They need to first learn how ignorant they are before they can learn anything of value. This is how basic training works and why it works do well.
