Of course our current tax code is flawed, so is Cain’s. There is a better way...even Cain was against a VAT tax last year and talked about how horrible it would be for America
First, Cain was against adding a VAT, or even national sales tax, to the current tax system.
Second, 9-9-9 eliminates the current federal tax code entirely.
Third, there's no VAT component to 9-9-9. The Paulbot at CATO and others trying to make that argument are frauds.
A VAT is a consumption tax at every level of production.
In 9-9-9, the retail sales tax is just that, on new item retail sales. However, U.S. businesses buying from other U.S. businesses can deduct purchases from the flat business income tax along with capital investments like new machinery.
