Also there’s the problem that the states themselves are the ones who hold elections. If democrats refuse to vote, I’m OK with that.

The Continental Congress was made up of honored delegates sent by the various colonial governments.

And when the demonstrations turn violent, Philly will start to resemble Chicago '68, which will be a fitting epitath for Chicago's "favorite son", Obama.
I think the point is that if civil uprising were too get violent and relatively widespread, Obama and company could use this as an opportunity to declare a national emergency and suspend elections. Some politicians have already joked around about this, I don’t think its something to laugh at or ignore.

However, I'm sure the plan is to put in a year of funded Leftist ranting and mayhem, and then blaming "rich white bastards" and "Bush" for all the failed socialist programs and policies, plus the cost of all the Union-overrun Public jobs and appointed Overseers this group now has in place in EVERY public sector. The goal is to make it APPEAR that this is "mainstream sentiment", when, in fact, these are the same lunatics who CAUSED this situation moving toward the NWO and global governance, and destroying America in the process.
It just may be too late now to avoid a Civil War II, as we've gone over the edge.

If an election was not to occur, Obama and Biden would cease being President and Vice-President at the end of their terms and the States would be obligated to select a slate of electors to choose a new president regardless of whether an election occurred or not.
Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress: but no Senator or Representative, or Person holding an Office of Trust or Profit under the United States, shall be appointed an Elector
If this failed to occur, Obama still would not be president, just some guy living in the Whitehouse. and more importantly, the armed forces would be under no obligation to follow him, in fact, since their oath is to the constitution, they would have a duty to remove him and make sure a President was constitutionally elected.
In my view, flyover country will have no say in the marxist president declaring martial law and suspending elections. All that will matter is that big cities are “under siege,” which will be played up by big media so obama will seem to have no choice but to suspend elections.
O and his minions will explain nothing except that it must be done. Me? I’m buying more ammo and supplies.
As a protest, they're only going to vote once. (I don't know if the dead voters have signed on to that.)
