National Restaurant Association chairman during Cain’s tenure: ‘It’s a hatchet job’
The Daily Caller ^ | 11/03/2011 | David Martosko

Posted on 11/03/2011 5:23:10 PM PDT by martosko

In an interview with The Daily Caller, former National Restaurant Association board chairman Joseph Fassler offered a firm defense of GOP presidential front-runner Herman Cain, along with an explanation for how Washington’s best kept secret — the identities of Cain’s sexual-harassment accusers — was also kept from the association’s board.

“The accusations? It’s a hatchet job, in my opinion,” Fassler told TheDC from his Phoenix, Ariz. office. “My gut tells me it’s a hatchet job. He gets a lead, he gets some traction, and the next thing you know, here come these allegations. It’s sad.”

Here’s my advise to Herman:
A smart man with nothing to hide would just leave it alone. Thank them for their efforts and concern as it being appropriate.
Indicate that I have tried over time to be correct with all of this but its easy to be off a little and so I could have without intention offended a few.
It will be informative and helpful for all us to learn in this area
Then let them bring it on and be seen as nothing.
Who cares who is saying it and knock off the pointing of fingers - its not important.
In the meantime you just keep giving out your message and say I’m glad that you are bringing this out and trust that the same will be done with all other candidates including Democrats and including the President.
Now as to my 999 plan ....

That was George Bush' ploy.

In the end it disappoints your most hard core base.

Although I wouldn't say it's a "better way", a far more certain method was reflected, in part, in "The Clinton Body Count".

Just one of a handful of reasons he had few critics in the Democrat ranks, and why many Republicans backed off. I think it was when Betty Curry's brother got killed on the highway just before she was due to testify in the Monicagate scandals ~ he was hit by an 18 wheeler. He staggered over into the other lane and was hit by a second 18 wheeler going the other way.

That made all the witnesses prick up their ears! Betty was a star ~ for Bill.

That`s essentially what Cain said this afternoon during an interview with Hannity. He said until someone comes forward with specifics, he and his team are moving back onto policy issues. He also said (and this will piss off liberals) he`s not going anywhere.. he`s in for the long haul.

If a man won't defend himself, he is not worth having others defend him...thats what republicans have done for decades, not defend themselves, just slink away...not this time...Cain has every right to defend himself and demand answers from those that seek his destruction..

Your way is the cowards way. Problems don't just go away if ignorned...don't fight this, then something else bigger will be put out there...it ain't beach ball in politics..

Joseph Fassler is *not* an anonymous source, so clearly we need to be very skeptical of what he has to say.

According to the Cain haters the man was a serial harrasser when he was at the NRA. But apparently he was a nice guy at all the other positions he held. With that said, how long before an “anonymous” woman from Godfather’s Pizza makes a claim?

Everyone, please read this whole article - he really puts a dents in the claims of these “sources” about the scope of any allegations. And he hammers home that this was SEVERANCE.
