If (or when) Assad in Syria feels too much heat from the Arab Spring it is quite probable, almost logical, that he will try to shift the focus from himself to Israel to divert the hatred of his mobs. He can accomplish this through his handy anti-Israel minions Hamas and Hezbollah but if he overplays his hand he risks igniting a bigger conflict.
