Actually, his positions in the past as a congressman and Speaker were quite conservative, ie, a budget balancing, pro-life Reaganite. Some of his ill-advised utterings since leaving office were dumb, and he admits that, and I think he’s now recommitting and reasserting his more traditional conservative principles. I know damn well that he’s polar opposite to Obama or Obama-lite (Romney).

I've stated before I'll never vote for Romney and I never will; at this point I don't know if I can vote for Newt.

I have real issues trusting his word. I know that Jim. If we were just talking about his congressional record I'd have no qualms about the guy. It's the left-wing stuff he has agreed with or stated since 2000 that concerns me and leaves me to believe that all we are hearing right now are words he thinks we want to here.
