It’s amazing that a site that hates captalism and has started putting on tons of new ads, and pay a membership fee for basic functionality.
Something I NEVER understood - the freeloaders would always axe for 1000 donations. Of what, wasn't mentioned. Old socks? Tambourines? Used occupy tents? And then they would BRAG about hitting the mark while passing out a few artsy, fartsy hearts to each other. All the while they were being set up to pay the big bucks. Kinds sucks to be them right about now.
I think it is related to not wanting to loose control.
One problem is what to do with the older archives, and how to import them into a new format. It may be better to keep the community intact and move to a new system, keeping the older system as a a reference only system.
I think the new DU site looks much better; nearly literate. I’ll probably register again.
I love the Alan Grayson ads. Also love the newest Nadin post, as she promotes her work on another blog/”news site” ending with, “Since I am the author if you have any questions... do ask...”
According to her “report,” San Diego OWSers apparently succeeded in annoying dock employees as they tried to get to work. She did not report on the number of corporate pigs they annoyed, so I’m guessing zero. She also quotes a trucker with an opinion so vapid, he must have been a DUmmie disguised as a trucker.
So, I’m sticking with my vote for Nadin.
