Mary just spoke the truth, she babysat for ANNA when her own daughter was 18 months of age. As that child was born in July 1959, the ANNA she acknowledged was there in January, 1961. Mary acknowledged ANNA OBAMA as listed in the Polk Directory. It was Charlette Le Fevre who identified ANNA OBAMA as Stanley Ann Dunham. They couldn't take it back, so they needed something to confirm that the student was Stanley Ann Dunham. They ended up sending Corsi a 'transcript' with the name OBAMA. STANLEY ANN DUNHAM. Can't find the Corsi pages, but here's Sharon Rondau's comment:

There may have been a record for ANN/ANNA OBAMA, a slight twisting of the name to include STANLEY and DUNHAM, plus SAD's Mercer Island details, and there you go...
There was never any mention of a period of residence in Seattle, in 'Dreams From My father'.
ANNA OBAMA WASN'T MEANT TO BE FOUND. And Stanley Ann Dunham didn't show up in Hawaii until 1963, when she changed her name with Social Security to ANN DUNHAM OBAMA.
