My question is then are they going to be allowed to wear this stuff in the real military also? A uniform is a uniform. Thats the whole idea. You add to it. What if the jews need to wear a yamulka? What if the christians need to sew a large cross on their uniform? I wonder if that will be allowed? Thats a rhetorical question. Obviously the answer is no way.

The answer is after 2012 when BO takes his second term and expands the long military traditon of allowing hijabs with service wear.
