When you left the discussion, you were incapable of continuing a discourse.
So you ran away.
I have no idea why I'm still being pinged by others to another conversation, but I do know this: You never answered my question, you never were capable of justifying what you said, but you were a good sport until you left. You didn't flame, you didn't produce ad hominem arguments too much (just a little), you only insulted in the slightest of ways.
I wish you well, I hope you have a great year, and I salute your perseverance.
Oh, and don't try to hit on me in Freepmail......yes, another joke at your expense.....
To: Lakeshark
I left because I know it’s pointless. But it’s hard to stay away when people keep asking questions or making accusations. Is there some question of yours you wanted me to answer? Shall I go back and look for it?

(Anyone opposed to Newt should remember: we're not electing a messiah, we're electing a politician.)
To: Lakeshark
Okay, I remember you now. You’re the “even lack of belief is a kind of belief” guy. I did answer you. It just wasn’t the answer you wanted.

I dont care how the universe began.
Except you are convinced, with ontological certainty, that Goddintdoit. Your actions belie your declarations. One of your objections to the positing of God: it's a quick, neat answer and you don't have to think anymore after that.
Busted.

Well I can’t believe God did it if there’s no reason to think that any such creatures exists.

Actually, you're the one who posited that believing there is no God somehow isn't a belief.
You like to frame the argument so you don't have to think or respond, you've been called on it and you can't deal with it.
It's really that simple, but it's not the answer you wanted.
To: Lakeshark
Are you ashamed of believing? Is that why you want to rephrase every possible world view as “a type of believing” so that you won’t be alone?

Not at all, you seem to be unable to understand you simply have another belief system than others. Rather than admitting that, you pretend you are the only one without a belief system, totally objective and above the fray, when you simply
believe there is no God. You can't prove it, so it is simply a belief to you. It's really very simple and something you should be able to admit.
Your position is nonsense, and somehow you can't own up to it.
To: Lakeshark
The only one? My dear Lakeshark, there are hundreds of thousands of people who simply don't believe in the supernatural.
So am I to gather that in your worldview EVERYONE IS A BELIEVER? That there simply is no such thing as unbelief? It's a word with no meaning?

There you go again, trying to make your linguistic distinctions.
I said you act as if you're the only one who has no belief system, which throughout this discussion you have implied in various ways for many days. Of course there are many with your belief system.
But unfortunately for you, it's simply a belief there is no God, or from your last post no "supernatural"
Why can't you admit that? What makes you think because you don't believe in God, it's not just a belief?
Here's why: You want to think you're the objective one here, the only one to understand what you perceive as obvious or in your own mind an a priori point to begin from. It's not true, but to you, you have to believe that or you might actually have to think about what you are saying.
To: Lakeshark
Can you answer my question? Are you saying that there is no such thing as “unbelief”?

Actually I allow lying .... I just grade it.. Good lies are entertaining, bad ones just suck..
LOLOL!
To: A_perfect_lady
You've dodged my simple question to you for so long, maybe I shouldn't. I'd be glad to but first you have to answer mine since I gave it to you quite clearly in the last two posts. If you do (or even try without dodging) I'll be glad to answer your question about “unbelief”.
Go ahead. Perfect ladies first........
To: Lakeshark
I gave you my answer. You don't accept it, but nevertheless, it is the only answer I have to give. If there is another way to do it, why don't you show me how it's done.
Is there any such thing as unbelief?

No you haven't, you've just tried to tie down a linguistic understanding. You have never answered how a belief there is no God is simply not another belief. If what I'm saying is not true, then please prove to us there is no God.
I await your incredible answer knowing after all this time you have none, nor will you try.
To: YHAOS; betty boop; A_perfect_lady
Thank you both so much for sharing your insights and keeping me in the loop!
it's a quick, neat answer and you don't have to think anymore after that. Busted.
"You don't have to think anymore after that" applies to "Nature did it" as well. It is a belief - or if you prefer, a presupposition or axiom.
To: Lakeshark
“Tie down to a linguistic understanding?” What other kind of understanding were you hoping for?

You will do anything not to answer my question won't you?
Cognitive dissonance at its finest.........
To: A_perfect_lady
You are simply wiggling around, avoiding the obvious question. It's the elephant in the thread, everyone is watching you ignore the obvious, everyone is watching your incapacity to answer this.
Why is your belief there is no God simply not another belief?
I'm waiting.
